 Lisa
M. Wiersema, M.D. joined Indiana Pathology Consultants, Inc., in January 2001.
Her undergraduate education was at St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame,
Indiana. She was graduated from
Indiana University School of Medicine and proceeded with pathology residency
training at the Medical College of Virginia and Methodist Hospital of Indiana.
Special rotations in surgical pathology and cytopathology were pursued at
the University of Michigan. Dr.
Wiersema completed a cytopathology fellowship at Indiana University.
Dr. Wiersema was a visiting clinician in the Department of Pathology and
Laboratory Medicine at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota before joining Indiana
Pathology Consultants.
Dr. Wiersema is certified in anatomic and
clinical pathology with specialty certification in cytopathology.
Her interests are in surgical pathology, gastrointestinal pathology and
cytopathology. She has authored
twenty-one publications and is recognized as an expert in gastrointestinal
cytopathology.
